Artist Bio:
Harold and Paula Vega Vondenstein (Bible Belt Blues/Grit's Guitar)

Gospel blues duo, Harold and Paula Vega Vondenstein of Bible Belt Blues, have created quite a stir since they started creating music together as a couple in September of 2018. Known for their bold, biblically sound lyrics and a musical style that is uniquely their own, the Vondensteins have garnered numerous awards including the prestigious 2021 W.A.M. Impact Award, the 2020 W.A.M. Award for Best Gospel/Christian lyrics, and the coveted 2019 Josie Music Award for Gospel/Christian Duo as well as numerous Finalist Awards. They have received extensive media coverage (interviews and print), song reviews in “Please Pass the Indie” and “Indie Spoonful” international music blogs, and nine articles in Write Away Magazine.

With two albums under their belt, “I’m Not Ashamed to Be a Christian” and “My God, My God,” and a recently released (EP) “Preacher and the Bluesman,” Bible Belt Blues is destined to make their mark as Evangelist Songwriters. Bible Belt Blues’ music has placed on WNIR Radio’s Top 10 Monthly Chart for eleven consecutive months during 2020 even though WNIR Radio is a secular radio station. Their boldest song, “Mighty Warriors for Christ,” held the #1 spot on WNIR for three consecutive months in 2021 (March-May). Bible Belt Blues was also the inspiration behind the creation of WNIR Radio’s new Christian program, “Spirit & Soul.” Twenty-eight of their Bible Belt Blues songs have already received radio airplay.

The Vondensteins have a lot to be excited about with their recent 2021 Josie Music Award nomination for Album of the Year for their much-acclaimed 2nd album “My God, My God” and the signing of twelve of their Bible Belt Blues songs and four of their Grit’s Guitar instrumentals on Bongo Boy Records compilation albums. The Vondensteins recently released their Grit’s Guitar debut concept album, “Runs Like a River,” which contains an extraordinary collection of electric guitar instrumentals in various genres with each guitar instrumental 9+ minutes long like the fabulous guitar solos of the 70’s. Paula Vega Vondenstein created Grit’s Guitar in May of 2021 as a platform for her husband, Harold, to explore his full range of creativity as a guitarist.

Amazingly, the Vondensteins handle every facet of their music production themselves including lyric writing, composing, recording, performing, mixing, mastering, producing, marketing, securing radio airplay, album cover design, building their own website and YouTube Channel, as well as creating their own music videos under Vondenstein Video Productions.
